Robert "Bob" Perkins worked in the Meadville area from 1993 until his death in 2003. He was employed by Adventure Tool Supply as an outside salesman. Bob was a great supporter of the NTMA and the manufacturers in Meadville. Bob lost his battle with cancer in 2003. To pay tribute to his legacy and beliefs, the "Bob Perkins Memorial Outing" was formed. The proceeds raised from this event are used for a scholarship in Bob's honor.
It is the NTMA Education Foundation's hope that the scholarship winner will continue Bob's commitment to the local tool, die and manufacturing industry.
Requirements for the Scholarship:
- Amount: $1,000 to be awarded to one or two students
- Application Deadline: May 1st
- Scholarship will be awarded prior to the beginning of a program or course.
- Scholarship winner must attend the scholarship presentation ceremony (or send a representative) in order to receive the scholarship.
Scholarship Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Must reside in Crawford County and graduate from Crawford Central or PENNCREST school districts
- Must be attending a qualified post-secondary training facility.
- Must be seeking a career in some area of the tooling industry.
- Must provide at least one letter of recommendation from a high school teacher.
- Must complete a short essay explaining why they are interested in a career in the tool and die industry.
- Financial need will be considered in reviewing applications.
- Grades and attendance will also be considered in reviewing applications (please include a transcript)
