About the Education Foundation

The Education Foundation is a Non-Profit 501c3 organization that offers a number of scholarships to students who are interested in post-secondary training to prepare for a career in the tool, die and manufacturing industry.

How To Establish A Scholarship

The NW-PA NTMA Education Foundation chapter currently offers five (5) scholarships. The committee accepts scholarship applications until the May 1st deadline (of each year). At that time, the applications and all applicant criteria are reviewed and the committee makes a decision as to who will receive the scholarship(s) based on the guidelines set-up by the organization, individual or business that has established the scholarship. Checks for the scholarships are made out in the educational institution’s name that the applicant will be/or is attending. For the past two years, the Committee has had scholarship presentations at Precision Manufacturing Institute's (PMI's) Open House during the summer and the scholarship winners, families, and the scholarship donors have all participated.

Any organization, individual or business wishing to help further the career of a young individual is encouraged to create a scholarship and establish their own criteria through the Education Foundation. It is required that the organization, individual or business creates and establishes all guidelines for an applicant to qualify. (i.e. essay required, high school graduate, currently enrolled student, age, residency, employment aspirations, for a PMI student, etc.)

Any organization, individual or business should also establish the "name" of the scholarship, the amount of the scholarship (may vary each year), whether or not you wish to be involved in the decision making process for applicant(s), the criteria and any additional pertinent information that you feel is imperative for your scholarship.

The Education Foundation committee is composed of ten members who are dedicated to the educational outreach of students interested in the tool, die and manufacturing industry. The Committee is very willing to help you meet your scholarship needs and invites your guest participation in this process.
