Worker's Compensation Program: Group rates are available to local members through PMA. New Technology Seminars: Programs are offered at low or no cost throughout the year. Workforce Development: Our local chapter recognizes the importance of getting young people interested in our trade. Programs lead by the Northwest PA NTMA include: RoboBOTS provides 14 high schools and over 190 students year-round opportunity to develop their BOT using skills needed in our industry. The annual competition draws in over 1,250 spectators from the community. Top in the Shop is a weekly newspaper article that promotes careers in the trade as well as providing recognition to a key employee and local tool shop. The shop becomes eligible to win $2,000 of scholarship awards. The article runs the day “Newspapers In Education” sends the Meadville Tribune into the schools. Our local chapter supports the Education Foundation that provides scholarships to students entering post-secondary education programs in the trade. New Programs In Fall 2009: First Lego League & NTMA Student Club Marketing: Member companies as well as their capabilities are listed on the local website. Coming in 2009 is an updated Member to Member RFQ System to help promote work between members. Political Advocacy: Our local chapter is a member of the Coalition for a Prosperous America who promotes fair trade in addition to NTMA's national lobbying effort through “One Voice.” PLUS all Regular Members have access to a larger network of over 1,700 NTMA Members making up largest metalworking trade association in the U.S..
